Developing habits through discipline and instruction

Relapse Prevention

Genesis Process is about addiction.  Drug and Alcohol Rehab as well as AA and NA meetings are about creating sobriety in a person’s life, but it does not usually address the reason why a person began using.  We offer one on one Relapse Prevention Counseling to help a person discover the root causes of their addiction and find healing. It is related to the prison in that when a woman is out of prison, she often needs this counseling.  But it also has to do with the rising opioid epidemic.

Dew Over Decor is an element of the Greenhouse Project, and provides women with positive work experiences in a safe environment.

What is Dew Over Decor ?

Providing women with positive work experiences in a safe environment while increasing the sustainability of Dew4Him Ministries in our endeavor to help struggling women flourish….

How it works

Community Sources will donate furniture and pallets. Dew4Him Ministries will provide the space, materials, and manpower for the repurposing of the project assigned. We provide feedback/accountability to the client as any employer would to help the client grow in their work ethic and work behaviors.

Our DOD Coordinator will schedule and oversee the completion of the projects for each client with the help of community volunteers.

More Info

The client will be hired as a part-time/temporary employee for the duration of the project while receiving support from volunteers. Her mentor will continue to look for more permanent employment to provide permanent future endeavors.

Workforce Readiness

At Dew4Him, we understand that, along with a strong spiritual foundation, the women we serve need practical, hands-on training to develop skills that will prepare her for long-term employment.  The Dew Over Decor program is our new economic empowerment program that will provide workforce readiness experience. Our program participants will repurpose furniture and décor as they discover how to repurpose their lives and recognize their value, empowering them with dignity and self-respect.

Community Involvement

During non-programming hours, we will open the Creative Expressions Workshop to the public as a venue for local art teachers to teach classes, local moms to hold artistic birthday parties, and free creative time called “Make and Take,” where anyone can come and use our space and supplies for a small fee so anyone can come and Discover the Creator in them.  This will raise awareness in the community of Dew4Him’s Mission.

Sustainability

Another goal of Dew Over Décor is to provide sustainability for our ministry.  The repurposed furniture and décor from our workforce readiness participants will be sold via Etsy, Facebook, community events, and on-site.  Additionally, the monies raised by opening the workshop for art classes and birthday parties will increase our ministry’s financial stability.

What is Dew4Him?

The short answer is that we are a ministry that comes alongside women who are struggling so that they will heal and grow.  Most women today struggle with something -- a bad habit, an addiction, financial difficulties, or even lack of friends and fellowship.  We want to help women grow out of their habits, poverty, addictions, isolation or any other place they are just stuck. We believe that Jesus has the answer and healthy relationships are the key to living in health, holiness, harmony and hope.

Do you have men in this ministry?

Although we do not minister to men as a rule, we do have men who participate on our Board of Directors and assist us as what we like to call “Boaz Brothers,” in reaching out into the community and prison.  Our ministry focus is, however, on helping women and not men.

At Dew4Him we have several ways of helping.  You can donate Treasure, Talent or Time.

Treasure:  It takes money -- we know this is true.  You can invest your treasure in eternal things where neither moth nor rust can destroy.  We also need physical treasures of old furniture to be restored, Hygiene and toiletry items for women,

Talent:  It takes skilled/talented people to help us in many of our endeavors.

  • We need HR people and local business men and women to help in our Jobs for LIfe classes
  • We need women who know how to cut and style hair and put on makeup appropriate for a job interview.
  • We need women who can teach others to cook healthy, inexpensive meals
  • We need artists to schedule classes in our Creative Expressions Room
  • We need men who can cook a mean chicken.  We have an annual BBQ Chicken fundraiser and we also service BBQ Chicken dinners to the women at our Prison Retreats.

    TIme:  Our most valuable commodity.

Volunteers:  We need people who just want to step in when things get hectic and do little jobs like stuffing envelopes, making a craft project for prison retreat, or help us clean or organize the office, or even be hands in a fundraiser.  We also need people to prepare meals for some of our classes. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information.
